Random delusion
6 Nov 2009 11:34 amWhile I was out saving the planet (you’re welcome), I received a message that I had successfully saved 25 square miles of rainforest.
It left me thinking, ‘huh’ – intelligent, I know.
I imagine several bulldozers lining up, their smokestacks pumping thick sooty exhaust into the skies, while acres of lush tropical jungle lies uprooted and in waste behind them.
One man speaks up, “Oi. We can’t bulldoze that. That’s AV’s land.”
A foreman scratches his head and consults a map. “I think you’re right.”
“And I know AV clearly said she wanted that bit saved.”
“Right lads, this bit here is AV’s – bulldoze around it.”
So, since I clearly saved the land, and paid to do so, I think that entitles me to some property ownership rights. I’m thinking about bulldozing a bit of it and putting in a nice imaginary house on my imaginary land. Once the house is finished I’ll invite you all over for a party.

OK - quick check of FB says that I've saved 117 sq feet of rainforest. Sounds pretty dodgy to me. So let's schmoosh them together.
